Etherpad
Etherpad is a webapp at notes.saintnet.tech that acts as a provides a way for multiple users to collaborate on a single document. For example, one can store a list of points of interest on a shared Minecraft server.
Documents are called “pads” and have either a randomly-generated name or a creator specified name.
For convenience reasons, Etherpad is set to allow users to create and edit pads anonymously. Saintnet users can login to access more features as detailed below.
Creating a Pad
Simply go to the main page and click “New Pad”. If you want to name your pad for easier access, you can do so here as well.
Opening an Existing Pad
There are three ways to find a pad.
The first is by URL. Just go to the URL to access the pad. This is the default method and is the most used one for unnamed pads.
Second, if you’re looking for a named pad you can type the name into the textbox on the main page to open it.
Finally, there is also the Pad List that lists every single pad available.
Saintnet Users
If you have a Saintnet account, you can login to MyPads at notes.saintnet.tech/mypads. This gives you access to the more advanced Etherpad features, like being able to organize pads in a Folders. You can also bookmark pads and restrict pads and folders to differnet security levels (i.e. only register users can view or a certain list of users can view).
You can also set your default “Author color” here.
Embedding in Matrix/Element
Etherpad is also a supported Widget-type in Element and can be embedded into Matrix rooms.
